Logo Field Hockey Balls for Program Fundraisers

Field hockey programs raise money in a harder environment than football or basketball. Smaller crowds, less community attention, and a booster base that is usually just the parents of the roster. Whatever you sell has to work with a smaller audience, which means margin per unit matters more than volume.

Branded balls fit that constraint well.

Why this works for a smaller program

  • Low unit cost relative to the sale price, which produces real margin without needing a large crowd.
  • Every family in the program is a buyer. Players want one, siblings want one, grandparents buy one.
  • It sells beyond the roster, to alumni and to youth players in the feeder program.
  • No inventory problem. Undated designs sell across multiple seasons rather than becoming dead stock.

Run the math first

The 60 percent test

Build the plan assuming you sell through 60 percent of the run across the season. If it clears your target at that rate, order confidently. If it only works at full sell-through, order smaller and reorder. Selling out is a much better problem than storing boxes until next August.

The sponsor offset

The single biggest improvement to your margin is a local business logo alongside the program mark. The sponsor funds the production run, the program sells at full price, and nearly the entire sale becomes profit rather than cost recovery.

Keep the sponsor mark modest. On a print area about 1 3/8” across, the size of a half dollar, there is not room for a large third-party logo without making the whole thing unreadable, and families buy program identity rather than advertising.

Where to sell

  1. The fall open house and preseason parent meeting. Everyone is in one room and nobody has spent their sports budget yet.
  2. Home game entry, not a table people have to seek out.
  3. The youth clinic or feeder program event, which is your largest untapped buyer group.
  4. Online through the school or club store, which reaches grandparents and alumni.
  5. Take card payment. Cash-only cuts sales noticeably.

Design guidance

Program mark or mascot, school or club name, and colors handled through process-color matching. Leave the year off unless you want a collectible, because an undated design sells for several seasons. Keep it to one mark and one line given the print area.

Custom versus bulk

A logo field hockey ball fundraiser almost always runs through the Team Shop channel, which handles a single identical design across twelve or more pieces. Note that no discount codes apply to Team Shop orders, so build your pricing off the Team Shop rate directly.

Lead time

Production runs 7 to 10 business days from proof approval, and three weeks ahead is the standard recommendation. For a fall fundraiser, order in July so you are selling from the first home game rather than the fourth.
