Logo Lacrosse Balls for Tournament Sponsor Gifts
We are in Baltimore, which means lacrosse tournaments are not an abstract category to us. They are the thing happening on every field within twenty miles from March through July, funded by local businesses that have been sponsoring the same events for a decade.
Here is how tournaments thank those sponsors in a way that gets remembered.
The renewal problem
Most tournaments recognize sponsors with a banner and a program listing, both of which disappear at the end of the weekend. Then the following January somebody has to call and ask for the money again with nothing in between.
A custom logo lacrosse ball on a sponsor's desk keeps the event present for twelve months. That changes the renewal call from a cold ask into a follow-up.
Working with the print area
The print area runs about 1 3/8” across, the size of a half dollar. Small, and that is the design discipline.
Tournament logo and the year, or the sponsor's mark and the event name. Not both plus a slogan. At this size a second element makes the first unreadable. Process-color matching keeps brand colors accurate.
For sponsor gifts specifically, put their mark on it rather than only yours. A ball with the sponsor's name is a gift. A ball with only your event's name is an advertisement, and it gets treated accordingly.
The other uses at the same event
- Team keepsakes, one per participating team or one per player at a showcase.
- Award pieces for champions, finalists, and the all-tournament team.
- Official and volunteer gifts, which cost almost nothing and materially help with retention.
- Registration incentives, where an included keepsake distinguishes your event from the three others that weekend.
Quantity planning
- Every sponsor at every tier, plus one spare each.
- Participating teams, at your chosen ratio.
- Officials, volunteers, and the committee.
- 10 percent overage for late sponsors and late team registrations.
Funding
Build the keepsake into the sponsorship package pricing. A tournament that includes a branded keepsake in a sponsorship tier is delivering a stated benefit rather than absorbing a cost.
For player keepsakes, a title sponsor typically funds the whole run in exchange for their mark alongside the tournament logo.
Lead time
Production runs 7 to 10 business days from proof approval, with three weeks ahead as the standard recommendation. Lacrosse tournaments cluster in spring and early summer, which is one of the two densest windows on our calendar.
For a May or June event, order in March or early April. Order against your expected sponsor count rather than your confirmed count, since sponsors commit late and spare balls are cheaper than an awkward conversation.
